Queerfilmnacht goes online

The Kinos im Andreasstadel usually show at least one queer film every month at the Queerfilmnacht (queer film night). Since the cinemas have to remain closed at the moment, the Queerfilmnacht moves from the movie theater to your screen at home online – with two films per month!

In January, MOFFIE by Oliver Hermanus, which had been shown in the QUEER-Streifen festival program in autumn 2020, will be available at the Queerfilmnacht. The film tells the story of the soldier Nicholas, who serves in the South African army in times of apartheid. The mood is harsh, and his homosexuality must remain secret because any form of weakness is not tolerated and brutally sanctioned. Despite these circumstances, he falls in love with a fellow soldier. If you missed the film at the festival, you can now catch up at home.
Not shown at the 2020 festival, but nevertheless worth seeing is SISTER MY SISTER by Nancy Meckler. In 1933, the sisters Christine and Lea work as servants for a very strict Madame. The mood is turning around as the sisters become more and more distracted from their work, culminating in a morbid climax …
